Within recent years there has been mounting attention and focus placed on the innovations that surrounds the understanding, marketing, and distinctive segments of nutraceuticals and functional food supplements. Despite the number of locations all over the world that one chooses to reside in, there are both individualistic and global issues related to improved health outcomes tied to the use of nutraceuticals and global regulations that can have a tremendous impact on their availability on worldwide market. The second edition of Nutraceutical and Functional Food Regulations in the United States and Around the World clearly captures not only the expanding research and quality control standards that are becoming required components to ensure the safe release of nutraceuticals, but also provides expansive coverage of the global rise of the functional food and nutraceutical market up to date.

The observed approach that is taken by the second edition of the publication to educate new and existing readers is one that is step by step in nature which starts off by providing an introduction into the pioneering discoveries that spurned the awakening of nutraceuticals and functional foods and transitions into the examination of the global status and operations with an emphasis being placed on regulatory controls.
